Bishop Dr. Kwame Gilbert
Bishop, Dr. Kwame Gilbert is a Pastor, Writer, leadership mentor, coach, and counselor. A native of Guyana, South America, he considers himself to be a servant to humanity and an ambassador of the Kingdom of God.
He has served in Pastoral ministry for the past 22 years, during which time he also held such offices in the Church of God in Guyana as: National Youth Director, National Evangelism Director, National Education Director, member of the state council and supervising pastor of the Ministerial Internship Program. In his 22 years of ministry he has planted two churches and has seen six pastors raised up into pastoral ministry.
Dr. Gilbert also worked in the field of human and social development and served as Presidential advisor on Community Development and Social Policy in the Office of The President of Guyana for 9 years. He was also actively involved in the Political life of Guyana and was elected as a Member of Parliament in January 2009 and served until April 2015.
In April 2015 he resigned from public life and relocated to Canada with his family as he transitioned into greater apostolic ministry in advancing the Kingdom of God. He served as the lead pastor at the Fellowship of Love Community Church in North Oshawa for 20 months, during which time the small congregation of a membership of 21 grew to 94.
He was then appointed as the Senior pastor of the Kitchener Church of God on February 5th 2017, succeeding Bishop Dr. Canute Riggan, who retired after 32 years of dedicated service to the KCOG family.
Dr. Gilbert also holds the office of Director of Education and Ministerial Development for the Church Of God in eastern Canada and serves as the Chairman of the regional council, and District Overseer of the Kitchener District.
As a writer he has published over two hundred articles on Christian Faith and Political action. He is the author of what is described by his close friend , world renown the late Dr. Myles Munroe, as a leadership classic, entitled “Transformational Leadership”.
Rev. Gilbert is a much sought after conference and convention speaker for men’s forum and leadership development.
A perpetual student, he pursues learning with a passion. He is the holder of several degrees including Bachelors Degree in Christian Education, Masters’ Degree in Conflict Resolution, Masters’ in Global Human resource Management and a Doctorate in Leadership and Organization . He also holds diplomas in Behavioral Psychology and Humanitarian Diplomacy. He is a certified Behavioral Psychology Consultant. He is happily married to Minister Rona Gilbert for 21 years and has two sons Jered and Edrei. His passion is for empowering the church and transforming nations.
